As I type this, I am in hospital (for reasons of a fortunate nature rather than unfortunate). Yes if you had not noticed from many previous posts the bulge in Mama's tummy already, then this will be a surprise to you- I am in a hospital room next to Mama and our son Chen Didi ("little brother"for now- we're still fussing over what to name him) who was born on Monday 17 Aug 2009, 8:10am.
He decided to make his appearance right at the end of the weekend, which was good timing because (a) we were all together- meaning I did not have to make a frenzied trip from office to fetch Mama, or any other complicated situation we could otherwise have been, (b) Chunchun was already put to bed and (c) we were at home- we could then fetch our bags and head straight to the hospital.
Chen Didi is 3.445kg and 52cm tall. He (no pictures yet- the computer in the hospital cannot upload picture leh) has a head full of dense black hair and has a skin colour that is a healthy red for now. He also has a round round face. We are enjoying looking at the little fellow whenever he is wheeled into our room.
So far parenthood second time round feels fine. Perhaps because the factor of unpredictability is diminished (ahah- but not removed totally), and therefore less anxiousness and handwringing (for now- hah) for us. Take for example, when I attended an inhouse (or inhospital) demonstration workshop on bathing and breastfeeding this afternoon, I was quite relaxed; I wanted to listen to get a refresher on bathing. But the other faces at the workshop were grim. Probably because they were first-time parents.
And so we hope to be getting from hospital back home with Chen Didi (boredson?) soon. I was thinking whether to start another blog to record the new adventures, but the complications (like reacquainting family and friends to new blog, having to post separately for Chunchun and Chen Didi (HH Jr?) and what to call new blog (moreboredpapa? boredpapa begins? 2 bored 2 papa? boredpapa strikes back??? (at what?)) meant that it was not viable to start a new blog.
Hence the title of this post. Talk to you soon.
